A renovation of a top-floor apartment in a 1940s block of eight, done to keep the building's own style rather than modernise it out. The finishes stay with the period: teak flooring, Moroccan tiles, and a fireplace.

The one thing the apartment never had was an en-suite. In an old plan, adding one almost always means a windowless internal bathroom, which is the worst room you can build: no daylight, no air, everything working off an extractor. Being on the top floor meant there was another option. The new en-suite takes its light from a skylight.
