A renovation of a top-floor apartment in a circa 1940s building. The finishes stay with the period: teak flooring, Moroccan tiles, and a fireplace.

The apartment had a lot of character, but needed a more harmonious overlap between the old and the new. By squaring off the arches, an increased sense of height and space was achieved. The texture, colour and interior design all blended together to keep the storage spaces clean, allowing the featured finishes to pop.

The apartment never had an en-suite bathroom. Therefore, one of the existing bathrooms was renovated to join the master bedroom. A skylight was also added, changing it from a windowless internal bathroom with no daylight or air, to a new en-suite bathed in natural light.
